AISD is getting serious about diverting as much as possible from the landfill. As of January 3rd, single-stream recycling began across the district, handled by Texas Disposal Systems.  An elementary school cafeteria food waste composting program is also being rolled out to four schools per week.

Texas Disposal Systems has developed a website www.GreenSchoolSolutions.com which includes a series of tabs that provide:
                            ·  videos on recycling and composting
                            ·  downloadable posters and training materials
                            ·  a mechanism to track the amount facilities are recycling (MY SCHOOL tab) - note: All TDS dumpsters and trucks are equipped with electronics that weigh the material and report it on the website.

Where does all our stuff come from and where does it go when we're done with it? Why should we care?

Visit The Story of Stuff to find out with a short video that children in 4th grade or older are sure to understand.

Get inspired to walk or bike to school!

Track your bike trips or walks to school through Boltage!
