Volunteer Opportunities

Act as point person for building issues that need to be addressed. Evaluate solutions and present to exec board for funding if small or meet with staff to discuss issue.

Design/Implement haunted house in Boy Scout hut, set up and take down the haunted house the weekend of the Fall Carnival. Monitor kids in and out of the house.

Plan and lead the Spring Fling event in coordination with the Auction Chair. Manage the venue, vendors, food and beverage, ticketing, event logistics, décor, volunteer needs, and event communications.

Plan and manage the Spring Fling live and silent auctions. Secure auction items, develop packages, coordinate the auctioneer, manage the auction platform and signage, and oversee winner fulfillment after the event. Partner with the Panther Fund Chair on event sponsorships.

Lead students voted by the peers to represent them on Student Council, including monthly meetings

Create a sign-up each semester and post the calendar in the workroom so teacher's know when someone is there. Provide a short workroom run through at the beginning of the semester to new volunteers

Serve as the PTA liaison with Bryker Woods’ feeder schools to strengthen connections across the vertical team. Coordinate shared events, communications, and opportunities that connect Bryker Woods students and families with O. Henry Middle School and Austin High School and support collaboration among the school communities.

Coordinate with volunteers to water, plant, weed, and maintain the landscaping and install new landscaping as needed. Create parent work-days to clean up campus and accomplish larger landscaping projects.

Inspect, test and verify the financial records, operations and internal controls to ensure accuracy and efficiency, as well asl legal compliance. The work is split between 3 auditors and financial documents like bank statements, credit card statements, etc. reveiwed on a quarterly basis.

Share information with parents about the Science Fair (date, rules, and boards), plan for the fair, and recruit judges

Support the Spirit Shop Chair with all things Panther gear! Help staff the shop before school and at special events, organize and maintain inventory, fulfill orders, and assist with new merchandise launches and other Spirit Shop needs throughout the year.

Help make Spring Fling a success by reaching out to local businesses and community partners to secure donations for our live and silent auctions. Committee members also support auction preparation, event setup and décor, ticketing, communications, and other needs leading up to and during Spring Fling.

Help celebrate and show appreciation for Bryker Woods staff throughout the year, escpecially during relevant Staff Appreciation Weeks.

Volunteer in the teacher workroom on a recurring schedule to help with copying, laminating, cutting, organizing, and other projects for Bryker Woods teachers and staff. Sign up for shifts each semester and help keep workroom requests moving throughout the year.
